What is Mercury in Astrology ?

Mercury represents means of communication and intellect.

For example:

  1. A vehicle can’t go from one city to another city without road/way.
  2. A message can’t be heard without molecules(air particles) .
  3. A message/instructions by our body can’t be processed by our brain without Neurons.

Therefore, these Roads, Molecules and Neurons represents Mercury in astrology because these are means of communication.

  • If Mercury is not well placed in your chart, then you may lack proper intellect. For example, consider a person who has his mercury not placed properly . Then, If a message is passed to that person, then that message will not be processed clearly by brain. This will lead to wrong decisions and thus leading to failure in general. This person will also face problem in learning. As message is not understood by that person, he/she will also be impulsive in nature.
  • If Mercury is not well placed in Astrological chart, then there are chances that there may be speech disorder and dyslexia(reading disorder) impulsiveness and bad sense of humour.

Best Placement for Mercury

As per my studies, i have found out that 3rd, 10th and 11th house are the best placements for Mercury. Let’s understand its meaning and implications one by one.

3rd HOUSE

This is the house of communication (verbal/non verbal), writing/reading abilities, hands and tongue(in body parts). If Mercury is placed in 3rd House, following are its implications:

  1. A person with Mercury in 3rd house does good in elementary education.
  2. This person will be good in expressing oneself through good communication skills.
  3. This person can learn multiple languages.
  4. This person will be good in calculations and mathematics.
  5. A person with Mercury in 3rd house does not face any problem in speaking, reading and learning which is the most important part of our day to day life.

10th HOUSE

This house represents working abilities, career, public image and spine(in body part). If Mercury is placed in 10th House, following are its implications:

  1. Individual will use power of intellect rather than physical body to work in Career. Humans are known for their intellectual abilities to become most powerful species in world.
  2. Mercury does well to awaken kundalini if one wishes to learn through meditation and yoga.
  3. Individual will not face any problem in achieving good status in society.

11th HOUSE

This house represents social/network circle, friends, fruits of hard work, wealth and legs(in body parts). If Mercury is placed in 11th House, following are its implications:

  1. A person with Mercury in 11th house choose friends and people of their social circle wisely and who can help them in solving their problems.
  2. These people have good contacts widely. These people have useful friends.
  3. These people are social not only for enjoyment/leisure time but also for providing help and dependent in all sort of situations.
  4. A person with Mercury in 11th house does not face any problems in achieving fruits of their hard work.
